About Big Sky FarmsWe are a family owned and operated business located in the heart of Pungo, Virginia. The owners live on premises and the property is operated and maintained for the care and well being of the horses. We provide Buckeye premium grains and fresh hay both in the stalls daily and in the field during the winter months. We offer spacious stalls with natural dirt flooring as well as daily cleaning and fresh shavings when needed. The barn itself is very well lit and has numerous outlets for clippers or other needs, however, box fans are not allowed as the barn has numerous windows and a large exhaust fan in the attic/tack area. There is both hot and cold water in the barn and wash stall and fresh water is accessible in every pasture. The spacious wash stall also has a “first aid” center which is stocked with all things necessary for emergencies. The upstairs of the barn offers spacious tack lockers which can be locked for security. There are two large riding rings and a round pen as well as cross country jumping field (under construction), which are for all to enjoy. All riding disciplines are welcome as well as green horses and green riders, we welcome the chance to share our knowledge of horses with you and assist you in any area you wish.
Our services include but are not limited to: grooming, exercising, training, lessons and horses for lease. Prices are on a case by case basis, but our goal is to keep them reasonable for the benefit of both horse and rider.
We welcome rescues and rehabs and assist you in any way we can. All horses are led by hand to and from the fields with turn-out daily should weather permit. In case of inclement weather, the turn-out will be adjusted to the best of our ability, with the first and foremost concern being for the horses. There is also a generator on the property which will keep power going should be have a terrible weather event - Strict conservations rules will be in effect should the generator be necessary to power the barn.
